Wye Type Globe valves (Y-Body)

The Wye Pattern Globe valve design serves as an alternative to address the high pressure drop inherent in conventional Globe valves. In this design, the seat and stem are angled at approximately 45 degrees, creating a straighter flow path at full opening and offering minimal resistance to flow. Wye Pattern Globe valves can be partially opened for extended periods without experiencing severe erosion. They are extensively employed for throttling purposes during seasonal or startup operations. Additionally, these valves can be rodded through to remove debris when used in normally closed drain lines.
