5-Valve Manifold Direct Mount

What is 5-Valve Manifold Direct Mount?

A 5-way manifold valve is equipped with two block valves, one equalizing valve, and two vent or test valves. The block valves on the high and low-pressure sides are identified by blue handles, the equalization valve by a green handle, and the bleed valves by red handles.

In standard operating conditions, the block valves stay open, while the bleed and equalizing valves are maintained closed. A common application of a 5-way manifold valve is in a differential pressure transmitter. When testing the transmitter’s zero, the block valve is shut, and the equalizing valve is opened. For calibration involving 3 or 5-point calibration, the test valve is connected to a pressure generator once pressure equalization has been achieved.

The robust design of these manifolds enables them to withstand severe pressures and temperatures. When equipped with PTFE packing, these manifolds can endure pressures of up to 6000 psi at 200°F or 4000 psi at 500°F. For higher temperatures, Grafoil Packing is employed.
